A man sits, looking up at the sky.
He wonders if he set his goals too high?
That man has lived in fear and in fright,
So much that he has lost all his might.
He knows he can't climb over this cruel wall,
So he has no choice but to climb and fall.
The wall of thorns moves to kill this beast,
But the man looks up, accepting no defeat.
With every branch he finds only pain,
But if he doesn't make it up he has no gain.
With every attempt to climb even higher,
The man begins begins to crumble and tire.
Halfway there, the man is almost dead,
His body filling with pity and dread.
When he reaches the top he fills with pride,
Concealing the pain he tries to hide.
Little did he know that past this wall,
There stood another, just as big and tall.
This is love, fighting for life,
And soon that love will say goodnight.
And when it ends don't cry because it's gone,
Smile because it happened, no matter what's lost.
